Mac w/Mojave 10.14.6, unable to use Shields, "some problem on our side"

Same issue. Any solutions? Mac OS 10.14 Mojave.

My paid copy of AVG is unable to access any of the "Shield" programs (FileShield, WebShield, EmailShield, etc), giving me a red non-highlighted switch and a message stating "We're sorry, there's some problem on our side, we'll fix it as soon as possible."

 

It's been six weeks.  No fix.

 

Any direction at all on how to fix this?  That functionality was key in my decision to buy in start of this year.
