MacOS AVG fails to find viruses on a drive

This is a bug report. I had a flash drive infected with "Win32:GenMalicious-HFA [Trj]", in a file called "Özel Dosyalar.exe". I plugged it into my MacOS 10.12.16 machine. I dragged the drive icon that appeared on my desktop into the "File Scanner" box in AVG. It completed immediately, saying "No threats found." Opening the drive in Finder, I saw the file containing the virus, and dragged that file into "File Scanner," which this time found "1 threat," which I had it quarantine.
