Making AVG work!

I have installed AVG on my computer but it does not appear to have activated.  Taken my money but keeps telling me I have security issues which I presume I have paid to be protected for.  I have found this the most frustrating and appalling service for any computer protection scheme.  Why is this the only support you get from this company via an email and you do not even get answers back as I have emailed previously.  I am not impressed and would never recommend this to anyone in the future.
