Got everything cleared out, and AVG is nowhere to be found in any of my Program Files files.
But…I try to install that AVG Ultimate program from the link with a bit of a road block. Everytime I do it does as expected for the first few seconds as it tells me its installing everything, then stops. I will wait a few mintues with nothing happeing, then I wold reclick it, and it would tell me that a install is already happeing. It then goes back to doing nothing.
I started the installation through Safe Mode and it worked. It had me restart the computer two times after that. I have AVG on my computer but it is the free version and I believe I had paid for one, unless I have miss thought or made a payment error on my side.
Is there a way I can check that stuff?
Also it might not be useful anymore since it's technically working but I got Windows 7.
Firstly, I know that what I should have done. I will live with that mistake and learn from it…
My old AVG program was bugged and would always say it needed to be updated. This will happen even when I told it to update. I went online and re-downloaded AVG thinking it would fix it, or at least give the option to. It then downloaded a whole new AVG setup, (looks and feels very nice, a great upgrade) but I was left with still one problem. Out of my two Program Files files, this new one put itself in the file away from the other (old one is in "Program Files (x83)" and new one in "Program Files").
Now that I had two on my computer, my dumb ass thought it would be a cool idea to AVG Shred the old one. I thought it would be a funny concept, maybe even poetic, boy was I wrong. It was about half way done when it error-ed and stopped.
Now when I try to uninstall the old AVG (witch I should have done at the beginning) it will always ever think I am trying to install, no option to uninstall. Manually trying to delete the files wont do any good as my computer will not allow me to (even in safe mode).
How do I get rid of this ghost of the past?
Got it working now thanks guys.
