Hiya, I have AVG Pro loaded on my android phone and have been suing for years. A couple of weeks ago I must of clicked on a bad link somewhere and now have multiple websites loading in chrome - casino, porn, virus cleaners etc.
They don't seem to be being picked up and I only seem to be able to temporarily get rid of them by clearing out my history etc. They come back again though. May of been on PC buts used to be able to block certain websites but I can't work out how to that only my phone so a bit stuck on how to get rid of them or what I'm dealing with - not really that tech savvy and have not had any issues for years.
Any advice appreciated…

Interesting I just posted a couple of replies that were removed a sthis one probably will be. Stephanie may of had better service than me on my question.

How do you recover if you become a victim of malicious code?

No they didn;t work - home page didn't load initially and then above website came up again when I clicked in address bar before proceeding to load another 5 websites.
If I could block it I could deal with it easily…

As an example of why I am struggling to do this - have gone into my phone just now do this - I didn't open Chrome but its open with multiple websites (they are not pop ups or ads).

AVG warning has come up this time (normally doesn't) "Malware Detected" int.special.offers.online/common/content/contentforyou6.php  has been reported as a malware site.

BUT there is nothing for me to click with the AVG box - no OK or Fix or ignore or anything just the pop up box so I have to come out of the browser without AVG having done anything other than tell me.

I'll try your suggestion from here though

Cheers, Ian

AVG Reply:
Hello Ian,

Thank you for contacting AVG Mobile Support.

I understand your concern with AVG. I'll explain it further.

Please be informed that AVG blocks Ads and pop-ups that appear only within the app (In the PRO version only).
Ads and pop-ups that appear outside the AVG App will not be blocked.

These unwanted popups appear because of the websites which you visit and the cookies saved in your browser.
I suggest you to reset the Chrome app which will reset the configuration of the app to its default.
To do so, please navigate to the location mentioned below.
Open Device Menu -> Settings -> Apps/Application Management -> Chrome -> Storage -> Tap on clear cache and clear data -> Force stop the app.
(this path might vary depending upon your android version)
Restart your device and check for the status.

MYREPLY (rejected email - unable to identify ticket)

Thanks Babitha

I ended up having to do a factory reset on my phone - if anyone else out there has same issue just back it up and reset it, far less stress in the end.
AVG turns out to be a complete waste of time for this, I pay for multiple devices which is fine but if only had on the phone I would not be paying for it and i have to rate the the malware protection as just next to useless - the warning came way after I had been 'infected' and offered no option at all to resolve it.

Hello Ian,

We are sorry to inform you that we do not have option to block only specific website from AVG mobile product. As you are facing only from Google chrome, we request you to reinstall Google chrome once and check it.
Let us know the status once you reinstalled chrome program. Thank you.
