Malware apparently blocks AVG scan

Hi Johannes,

We regret for the inconvenience caused.

We will help you to resolve the issue.

Please restart your computer and try to scan the computer again.

Once the scan gets completed, please check the quarantine folder for threats.

Keep us posted.

Dear Santhosh,
thanks for your advice. I followed it and this is the result:
At the end of the regular daily scan, AVG issued three warnings, cf. following pic.
User-added image
When I try to remove the threats, either by typing on the red button at the bottom, or by using the areas marked in red at the right side, AVG works for two or three seconds, but does not remove anything and shows the same screen again. The only way to advance is to press the "skip" button at the lower right corner which leads to the another screen where you can only proceed by selecting "ignore and skip". Consequently,  the quarantaine folder is empty.
The first question therefore is: how to remove the threats?
Second problem: The standardized ad-hoc scan (when you open AVG and just press "scan computer" stalls after the part "Browser add-ons". This has happened only after the infection.
Thanks a lot for your help.
For your info, this is what I find in

We're sorry to know that, Johannes. Usually the manual update doesn't get reflected in the last virus definition update status. We would release updates every 4 hours. As the manual update has completed successfully, it shows that the program has the latest patches applied to it. However, in order to ensure that there are no communication issues with the program & our server, we'd suggest you to repair AVG program once & check.

Santhosh,
I am afraid that we may have closed the case too early. In fact, since the intervention of your technician last week, the automatic update of the virus definitions in my AVG Internet Security no longer works. i performed a manual update a couple of days ago which confirms that the update facility works correctly but my AVG screen now tells me that the last virus definition update was three days ago. Such a long interval never occurred before. Normally, you update at least once a day, right? Do you have any idea how I can solve the problem? Thanks a lot in advance.
Best regards,
Johannes

Hi,
I caught three pieces of malware while surfing the net. AVG alerted me, and the scan identified the threats. However, there was no reaction of the system when I tried to remove the threats. "Skip and continue" was the only option available in that situation.
I performed a deep scan which did not find anything.
The regular scan ("Scan computer"). however, now runs in an endless loop, or whatever. When trying to close AVG, resp. stop the scan, the system indicates that AVG does not react.
How to resolve this situation, please? Are there other (milder) options than  "uninstall and reinstall"?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Johannes

Dinesh,
thanks a lot for your help. It seems to work now. Great.
These problems are not nice. However, I have learned so much about my computer and your tools while trying to solve them. That's the good side of it.
Cheers, Johannes
