Malware removal

Hi can I check, do you just mean restart or reinstall ?

Hello Euan,

We are sorry to know that your windows 10 PC has been infected with "securepubads.g.doubleclick"  Malware.
Do you have AVG protection program installed?
If yes, is it free, trial or paid version?

Hi Alok, This would make sense if it was only on ONE site but it happens on several sites ?

Hello Euan,
Thank you for providing the screenshot. We request you to reset the browser to check the status since it is an adware. Please note that these kind of tool bars and search engines get into the computer along with some other software or if we visit any untrustworthy websites accidentally. I would request you to uninstall unknown add ons from your web browsers. Please right click on the desktop shortcuts of your web browsers, click on Properties, check the 'Target' field. It should be “C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe” for IE and “C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe” for Chrome. Please check and remove if any other text is added to this path.
Thank you.

Hello Euan,

Thank you

Hi the text is    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" nothing extra, thanks for your continued assistance.

Euan

This is one website, I get similar on ebay and on howtogeek.com

Hello Euan,
We are sorry that you are still getting pop up on your website. However, that pop ups may be authorized by their websites so we can not stop those pop ups. However, when I connected to your system remotely, I checked that your AVG program was working good. I cleaned your browser and still you are getting that popup so those pop ups are verified and authorized by their website. You can check this to your different system also. Thank you.

Yes, it is actually reset of the browser.
To reset most of the known browsers please follow the instructions as mentioned in this article: http://www.howtogeek.com/171924/how-to-reset-your-web-browser-to-its-default-settings/ .

Euan,
We are sorry, could you please attach us the screenshot http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot of the popups you are getting? Do you get that popup when you are trying to access different sites? Awaiting your reply, thank you!

Hi my apologies I did not intend to submit multiple questions on this matter, yes I have AVG protection and it is a paid version and a technician (Alok) accessed my PC earlier and we thought he had fixed the issue but it is still there ?

Hi, I have tried this but without success, will any of the online tools ie spyhunter solve this issue ?
Regards
Euan
PS everytime I answer a question I get a message saying I do not have permission to perform this action !
