I have had a malware threat showing on my AVG Antivirus app about 50% of the time since the beginning of 2017. It is DSM Lawmo. It registers as a threat when I scan, sticks around for a few weeks then disappears; then it reappears a week or two later, stays on my phone for a few weeks, despite regular scanning, then it disappears for a few weeks etc. etc.
Since January, I have made about thirty requests to AVG to terminatedly fix this problem, to no avail. Sometimes their Customer Care say wait patiently and other times they have literally just ignored me. It is almost the worst service I have ever had from any firm. The problem seems to be with the Tech department, not Customer Care who try to be helpful but don't have the technical knowledge to repair it. Does anyone know how to get rid of this DSM Lawmo threat? Other customers have complained about it on this Community site, going back as far as June 2016.
It is not a 'false positive' as when I press the 'more info' button on the threat, it is described as a vicious malware that can steal your personal information and can monitor your key tapping to discover passwords etc. Currently the threat has been on my AVG Antivirus Pro app for two weeks and there is no communication from AVG of any kind as to when it will be handled, even though I email them.
Please help. Failing that, does anyone know a different Antivirus app that may be better at dealing with malware. I am a pensioner and do not have a great deal of knowledge on these things.
Thank you.

Thank you, Alan, for your reply. Ironically, the threat disappeared this afternoon. I would still like to know why it keeps reappearing each month or to hear that it has finally been handled terminatedly. I have never had an answer to this question the previous times it has disappeared, even though I have asked. Currently, I do not know if the threat will be back in a week or so as per usual. Sending screenshots of the malware is the first step I take when DSM Lawmo turns up on my phone but thanks for the suggestion, Alan.
