Malware virus disabled AVG, locked computer, and took $159 for Stables to fix

Thank you for your response.  However, as I stated, the undetected virus/malware disabled AVG internet protection, corrupted the AVG virus scanner and protection, and completely disabled my ability to operate the computer, precluding my ability to run the corrupted AVG virus scan.  Staples used their virus/malware scanner to find and remove the virus/malware.  I am very disappointed in AVG's "Ultimate Protection's" inability to prevent the virus/malware from infecting my computer and corrupting AVG such that the AVG scanner was operative.  After Staples removed the virus/malware for $159  I had to remove and reinstall AVG.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you and to check the Virus in your PC you need to perform the scan process in AVG and If there is any virus, It will be shown as scan results.
If yes, Please remove the virus from your PC.

What good is AVG if it is unable to detect a virus or malware that arrived via email without even clicking on any attachment, disabled AVG internet protection, and locked the computer from any ability for me to operate.  AVG was unable to repair and fix the problem because the computer was locked…  I had to take the computer to Stables to fix.  What good is AVG?

Thank you for the offer for support assistance via the internet…but please re-read the issue!  Internet access was disabled, and the computer itself was locked from all operation by me.  I could not connect with support or anyone via the internet!  I could not run a virus scan.  This is a real issue with AVG!  I had to take the computer to Staples to run a virus scan using their software and to eliminate the virus/malware I had to pay $159.  After the virus was eliminated, I still had a corrupted AVG with Internet protection disabled.  The only support I could find available from AVG was paid support. I uninstallled and reinstalled AVG myself to fix AVG.  The ultimate problem remains:  AVG Ultimate did not/does not prevent a virus/malware from disabling AVG Internet Protection and locking the computer.

We regret for the inconvenience caused. This issue might have caused due to an recent conflict with Windows update. We have already checked with Windows and no more conflict will occur in future updates. If you still get any problem, if you computer, we suggest you to contact AVG support from a different device and we will guide you further with this. We do have a AVG rescue CD using which you can boot up your computer and do a complete scan even when your computer doesn't boot up.

This problem occurred on March 21 on this computer that I am writing on now.  I tried to restart in safe mode then but that would not work.  I could not in any way access AVG support or anyone on the internet.  So I was forced to take the computer to a local repairer - Staple -  and it is now fixed.  The complaint is that despite having the AVG Ultimate and despite the advertisement that it is your very best protection for Windows PC, AVG did not protect the computer AND I could not access AVG support to fix the problem AND I had to pay $159 for Staples to fix it AND I believe AVG Ultimate has not lived up to its advertisements AND how do I know this will not happen again with AVG Ultimate???
