Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately, my problem is that I can't get the files INTO quarantine. I do not currently have anything in quarantine as I tend to delete things as soon as I get them in there.
Here's a screenshot of the message I get if I try to do so. I tried to attach it to the original message but it didn't work for some reason.

Hi Jackie,
We're glad to look into this & help you.
From your description, it seems that the old version of MS has been override & hence, the file might be unavailable.
You can remove the files from quarantine by selecting it & deleting it. Please clarify if you've already tried it.
If so, share us the screenshot of the files in quarantine for better clarity.
I ran a scan today for my Macbook Pro and AVG located two files named Microsoft_AutoUpdate_4.21.20030802_Updater and Microsoft_AutoUpdate_4.21.20011301_Updater. However, it tells me they cannot be quarantined because they either got moved, don't exist or I don't have permission to move them. I read that updating Microsoft might help, but it tells me I have the latest version already. How do I get rid of these files?
Jackie, thank you for sharing the screenshot.
Do you have both Windows and MacOS installed on the same PC?

Glad to hear that, Jackie.
Thank you for returning to let us know.

As far as I know, I only have MacOS installed.
It's solved now! AVG updated itself on my end and I ran the scan again, this time it was able to quarantine the files properly. Thank you for the assistance, if I find myself with the same problem again I'll let you guys know
