To check if AVG is causing the issue, please disable it temporarily by following the steps in this article.
If disabling AVG protection fixes the issue, follow the steps that are mentioned below 'Disable individual AVG components' in the above provided article to identify the component & let us know.

Thanks, I followed all the steps and found it was something else. ooks like the post file got damaged somewhere. Relinked all mail accounts in Outlook and problem disappeared.

I have two email accounts in Outlook: one is private and one for my work. The private one since the weekend won't connect or connects periodically. My ITC says it is AVG. Where do I choose to allow @live.co… to connect to the server again?
