I am also having this problem. Installed MS Flight Sim with TuneUp installed, and had the problem. Had to uninstall Flight Sim and reinstall with TuneUp off. FlightSim fine for months - just turned on TuneUp again assuming AVG has fixed this, and immediately FlightSim broken again. AVG, what is the fix other than uninstalling TuneUp??
Hi George,
We're sorry to know that you've lost your files.
However, we'd like to clarify that AVG TuneUp allows you to review the files/items detected before fixing them.
We always recommend users to review the detected items before fixing them in order to avoid data loss.
For further queries, feel free to write back to us.
This is happening to me too, AVG is blocking downloads and deleting large amounts of data, without a way for me to prevent.
I'm having this issue too. Download will just reset to 0 after downloading 1.4 GB of the update. I added MSFS to the allowed apps list and this is still happening. How is an issue from 2020 still persisting in 2022?
Trying to get AVG Internet Security running on all my computers, I inadvertantly allowid AVG to reinstall Tune-up on my MSFS computer! As I was afraid, even though I immediately uninstalled Tune-up, I has again ruined my MSFS install! WHY HAVEN'T YOU FIXED THIS PROBLEM? You have had months to do so. Don't you want to sell Tune-up anymore? Please fix this well known problem. Thank you.
Hi,
can I ask whether this issue has been solved? Is it safe to use TuneUp again without running the risk to completely mess up Flight Simulator?
I find it a bit strange that these issues are transfered over into direct email exchanges and are then not followed up in the forum again. This is not an isolated issue; there are other flight sim users who have the same problem and it would be nice to find solutions here, if they are available.
Thanks
Warning: Be careful when using AVG Tune Up if you have Flight Simulator 2020 installed. With me Tune up deleted about 15GB of files from FS. I had to install Flight Simulator from scratch.

George, we realize this could be upsetting.
We can analyze the Flight Simulator application and check whether it is possible to to exclude those files during AVG TuneUp action.
To proceed with that, we have sent you an email and asked to send the .exe file in a zip attachment.
Please revert to our email for further assistance.
I disagree with your response. I think it's wrong that normal files of a program are seen as redundant files. Such reasoning requires you to literally check ALL files on your PC. I think it's a bug in Tune Up.
