Hello, Alok,
Thank you. I followed your directions, but Microsoft Outlook Search is not "sleeping." There is a sleeping program named "C:\Users\rcopeland\AppDa…" I tried to "wake" it in order to see what the rest of the file name is, but I get no response, so I am not sure what this file is exactly. AVG PC TuneUp gives me the pop-up message, "This program was already disabled by another program, Windows, or an older version of AVG PC TuneUp."
There is a list of "57 programs are slowing down your PC." I did put this entire list to "sleep" on Saturday, only to reverse the process with Rescue Center when I could not figure out what had killed my second monitor. Could it be that one of these programs put Microsoft Outlook Search to sleep with it, and now it is just taking a lot of time to "wake up" (re-index all of my emails)? Microsoft Outlook Search in not included on this list of program to put back to "sleep," however, so I am asking 1) whether another program listed could include Microsoft Outlook Search within it, and 2) whether my theory about it being put to sleep and taking time to wake up is credible?
Thank you again for your help,
Ruth Copeland
Hello Ruth,
We are here to help you. I request you to open AVG PC TuneUp > SpeedUp> background programs > scroll down the page, check if any application is sleeping/disabled > look for Microsoft Outlook Search > Enable it.
Regards,
Alok.
Dear Karthikeyan,
My screen shot does include a complete list of programs in sleep mode, which is what you requested (as far as I can tell). I'm not sure what the list of programs NOT in sleep mode would tell you, but if you believe that would help you solve the problem, please let me know, so that I can supply it.
It is true that I do not know much about computers, but my guess is that one of the many AVG PC TuneUp actions I agreed to take on Saturday wiped out my Microsoft Outlook Search index, and while the Rescue I executed (restoring all the backups using Rescue Center) kept the index wipe-out from reoccuring, it did not restore my index. This morning, Microsoft Outlook Search "Indexing Status" showed almost 150K items "remaining to be indexed," but this number decreased (very slowly) over the course of the day. (Still some tens of thousands to go.) So, I am hoping that soon Microsoft Outlook Search will restore its index, and that AVG PC TuneUp will not wipe it out again.
Does this sound credible to you?
It sounds like you are not aware of which AVG PC TuneUp function would cause Microsoft Outlook Search index to be wiped clean. This would be a bit disappointing, as I depend upon your advice. What do you think?
Thank you in advance for further attention.

Thank you for the screenshot.
This does not provide the complete list of applications.
However, i suggest you to uninstall AVG PC TuneUp from your control panel and check if Microsoft Outlook search works fine on your computer.
If not, this should be problem with the "Outlook".
I installed AVG PC TuneUp Saturday (8/4/18). I went through the actions on the main page: Maintenance, Speed Up, Free Up Space, Fix Problems. I accepted most of the recommendations. But then I lost use of my second monitor. So I went back and restored all the backups using Rescue Center, and regained use of my second monitor.
However, now–with no backups left to restore–I have lost use of Outlook search function. Using this function is central to my daily work.
How can I restore use of Outlook search function?
Thank you in advance.

Yes, you are correct. We are not sure which function of AVG PC TuneUp caused this issue because each of the component is inter linked with one another.
Please wait for some time and check if the indexes are completely restored on Microsoft Outlook search.
If you still face any difficulties, please let us know and we will escalate this case to the concerned team.
