MicrosoftRuntimeUpdate.vbe

The AVG scan didn't detect anything, that's why I initiated this inquiry for support.
I didn't find MicrosoftRuntimeUpdate.vbe at the file location in the alert. MicrosoftRuntimeUpdate.vbe was not found in Task Manager Processes or Startup. I ran a full scan using the windows malware removal tool and it didn't detect anything either.I'm of the opinion at this point it was a popup designed to scare me into buying the additional AVG protection service as I kept having AVG popups concerning scans and offers right after i got the alert popup. Thanks for your consideration, but I don't seem to have a problem at the moment.

I have been using AVG for years yet I recently got a popup alert during pc startup concerning MicrosoftRuntimeUpdate.vbe. Does AVG not deal with this threat?

Hello John,

We appreciate your efforts in sharing the screenshots.
Please run a full computer scan using AVG and check if it detects any threat. If no detection is captured, we need to check 'MicrosoftRuntimeUpdate.vbe' process on your PC to see if it is a threat.
To do so, please open Task Manager when the pop-up occurs and right click on the specific process, select 'Open File location'. This will show you the original location of the threat message.
