mid-January program updates have rendered computer inoperative

Hi Larry,

Thanks

About ten days ago some update during the day caused my computer to go to a grayish screen and become inoperative.  It was working fine in the morning and then just quit during the day.  Mouse does not freeze but everything else just does nothing.

Only way to reboot was to hit the power button.  Comes to login screen fine, but when put in password and Windows goes to load with all drivers the issue above manifests iteself.

After much trial and error, by rebooting in Safe Mode and uninstalling AVG 2015 computer boots and runs fine with no issues.  Reinstalled AVG 2015 and all updates and computer ran fine for two days, but then required a reboot and upon reboot same issue persists.

I have uninstalled AVG Internet Security 2015 entirely and computer works 100%.  I can't put up with this, what is going on?  Anyone else have this?  I recall a similar issue with a prior verison  of the program.  Debating changing AV providers even having this happen once every year or so is quite annoying.

Thank you for any input.  Running AVG Internet Security 2015 on a Windows 7 workstation with 32GB RAM, dual Xeon processors.
