I apologize for the inconvenience. The message "last scan a few minutes ago" is a known bug and our developers are working on it. If you want to change the settings for Scheduled scan, please refer this article https://help.avg.com/en/avg_free/17/securityantivirus_scanoptions.html.
Yesterday the AVG security software got updated and I no longer have the problem.
I have version 17.6.3029 installed and have two concerns. Always the start up screen says last computer scan was a few minutes ago. If this is the case,l why is there a supposed facility for a scheduled scan. I say supposed because the scheduled does not kick in with this release and there is no way to edit that scan's parameters. This has all been going on since August when the latest release was installed.
Software version is now 17.7.3032.
