Hi Kishore, I have just tried the update from directory and it worked fine.
So the problem appears to be downloading the files.
Hi thanks for prompt reply, using AVG remover was next step I was goign to try and then fresh install, but then I wuouldn't of manually deleted that file you say to, I'll do that and see.
Cheers

Hello Mr Divya Kannan , I have the same problem as Mr Phil Mitchell and like him have already done everything Mr Mitchell has done and nothing has been solved. Please send me whatever advice you have given to Mr. Mitchell becuase we have identical problems and the suggestions given here have been of no help.
Kind regards
John
Hello John. Sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused. Have you uninstall AVG completely as suggested by Balasubramanian in his reply to Phil?
Hi, I have Internet Security 2015 installed on 3 systems Windows 764bit and Windows 8, none will do update, says a .bin file is missing. I have done what supoort site says to do and deleted the temp update files under Update Management. Didn't solve problem.
Please advise what I should try next or is this a AVG problem.
Thanks
Phil
Hello John. Sorry to hear that. In this case I would request you to contact our technical chat support via http://bit.ly/1LKv8dv for further assistance regarding this. Thank you.
Yes Mr Avinash I have already removed AVG completely with the executable file given earlier on this thread of posts regarding this problem. Each time I reinstalled AVG (I have done this several times already) it said that AVG had been installed succesfully but when I open the AVG window I get the same message about the missing bin file and AVG cannot update itself. I also did the other thing that Pil Mitchell was told to do which was to manually erase the AVG Remover file. Just like Phil Mitchell I made a search on the entire hard disk and only found AVG Remover in the download folder and nowhere else on the hard disk. The problem remains unsolved. I need help.
Kind regards

Hello Phil. Pleased to see that you appear to be now sorted. Thanks for returning to the Community & posting.
In case it helps, here is the log of what happens when the AVG client tries to update. I deleted the temporary files before running the update. This is reproducible i.e. it happens every time I try to update. Note the 404 error on the last line:

Hi Divya & Avinash, as others are reporting the same error and I have it myself on 3 different systems, I cannot see how allowing tech support to remote connect wil fix problem, also if one googles this problem, it is not new, I can find rerfences to a .bin file error way back to 2012, which poeple poste don forums that they left it until AVG fixed it in time.
I really sugegst you approach this from another view and AVG take resposibility for this error.
Evidence is here that it is not a end user problem.
Question for otehrs posting about problem, are you al using Inetrnet Security, as I just did an update on our 2008r2 Virtual server and AVG Email server edition checked for updates okay. I wonder if this is related to one version only?
Thanks
Phil
