Observation:
In the mac search, the application name is AVG AntiVirus.app but the app is AVG Internet Security.
I am using the latest download version which is 19.4.
Is there a components section in the app? I am trying to allow the app OpenVPN but I cannot find components in Preferences->Exceptions.
I already uninstall and reinstall the app.
Please advise.
Thanks.
Yes, Gabriel.
Application type of files will be scanned under file shield.

Problem is even if I shut AVG VPN down (AVG Internet Security still running), my apps through OpenVPN would not work anymore.
This is after I upgraded the free version of AVG to paid version.
Tried adding /Applications/OpenVPN/OpenVPN Connect.app/
Did work.
Does app falls into File Shield category?

I suggest you to disable AVG Internet Security components by clicking on the slider manually and check if you're able to access the applications.
Keep us posted.
Hi Gabriel,
We're glad to help you with the details.
Please follow the steps below to add the program to exceptions.
- Click AVG AntiVirus or AVG Internet Security in your menu bar, then select Preferences... from the context menu.
- Select the Exceptions tab.
- Click a shield in the left panel to select it.
- Click the lock in the bottom-left corner of the window, enter your system administrator credentials, and click OK to grant permission for the changes.
- Click the + (plus) symbol to add a file, folder, or server to the exceptions list.
- Navigate to the file or folder you want to exclude and click Open, or enter a server name and select the relevant service from the expandable menu, then click Add.

Is there some firewall settings that I can configure? Or you have to whitelist an ip address.
