Hello Everyone,
I have AVG Internet Security 2013 installed on my Vista laptop. Recently AVG detected a virus, and since the viruses removal I have not been able to boot into Windows.
I have physically removed the hard drive from my laptop and backed up all of the contents using an external (USB) drive bay and the RoboCopy utility. Furthermore I have tried a variety of 'fix' commands from the Vista DVD (in Recovery mode).
Before biting the bullet and re-installing Vista I would like to have a look over the AVG virus log files. The following link indicates where to look for the various log files -
AVG Support Community | User Forum for All AVG products (http://forums.avg.com/au-en/avg-forums?sec=thread&act=show&id=168173" target="_blank)
However there are tens of log files in the locations indicated. What is the name of the log file that is most likely to have the names of the viruses removed by AVG?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Davo

Hello Davo, did you empty the Virus Vault? If not, AVG Rescue CD has a Vault option that might prove very useful. (BTW are you sure you tried "Startup Repair" from the Vista DVD?)
To answer your specific question: For Resident Shield and Identity Protection detections:
c:\ProgramData\AVG2013\DB\detection.db (if 2013 directory was the same as currently).
If a scan was running at the time of detection, then stats.db in the same folder.
