Mozilla Firefox is slow!

I just installed AVG Ultimate that has the PC TuneUp.  Mozilla Firefox is running very slow.  Yahoo in particular.  What can I do to fix this?  Thanks.
Laptop, 8GB RAM, 230 Ghz, Windows 10
Internet speed is sufficient, wifi is good

Chris, Win 10 you shouldn't be using Windows Defender anyway. From Win 8 onwards it was re-classified to an AntiVirus prog which will conflict with AVG.

We are sorry to hear that. Could you please check if Mozilla firefox works faster with AVG disabled? Please disable the AVG from the bottom right corner of the AVG icon in your desktop.
