Mozilla Thunderbird problems

The repair of AVG has not helped in my case.

Hi Roger,

We're glad to look into this & help you.
Before proceeding, we'd like to clarify that the conflict between Avast & Mozilla, was with the Firefox browser (crashing) & it has been already fixed with the latest patches.
As you're experiencing the issue with Thunderbird, it seems to be a different issue. Initially, please let us know the version of AVG Internet Security that is installed on your computer (Open AVG Internet Security - Menu - About).
Also, share us the screenshot of the message that you receive regarding the update & clarify how often would the auto update happen (if you're aware of it).

I've started having a problem with Thunderbird. It keeps informing me that it can't automatically install updates (despite being manually updated).
Apparently, this is a known issue with Avast anti-virus, so I'm wondering if AVG may be causing the problem. Is there a setting I need to change, or an exception I need to create?

Before I put in those 4 exceptions, I could not check for updates under settings or via Help > About as both of those call a script that checks for updates.  The propt that Thunderbird throws is when the script fails to connect, and then prompts you to manually update.  With the exceptions in I was able to update via Help > About, and have not fail message in over 48 hours.

Was your Mozilla Thunderbird program able to automatically install updates after adding the above links to the AVG exceptions list?
Awaiting your response.

I finally got the correct exceptions in for Thunderbird to update and tested on computer that was several versions back + has AVG Internet Security.  These are the exceptions I put in:

Also if anyone else wants to test, version 102.4.0 just rolled out today for Thunderbird.

Thank you for sharing us the screenshots, Roger.
As we're uncertain when Thunderbird's auto update will occur, you can repair AVG program once to ensure that all services are running fine.
After repairing the program, please monitor if Thunderbird updates automatically.
