MS office problem

So far, so good.  I told Tuneup to Ignore Office and the problem has not recurred.

So my immediate problem seems fixed but now I have the issue of Office continuing to run when I don't need it, and slowing down my system.

Are AVG working on a fix for this problem, so that Tuneup can put Office to sleep without Disabling the Click-to-run service?

I keep getting an error message (0x426-0x0) when I start up MS Office applications.  Not all the time, but the problem keeps recurring.  I have run ‘Repair’ several times.  It seems to be related to the ‘MS office click-to-run’ service – when I view it, it says ‘Disabled’ so I set it to Resume and also set it to open automatically on start up.  Then everything is ok for a while, until it recurs again.
I’m running Office 2019 in Windows 10.  I also have Office 2010 installed (so that I can continue to use OneNote 2010, which runs without having to go online).  I also have AVG Tuneup installed and I have noticed that when I start Office 2019 apps I get a notification from AVG Tuneup that Office 2010 has started up.  Could it be that AVG Tuneup is repeatedly disabling the MS Office click-to-run service by ‘putting it back to sleep’ when I close the apps?
If so, how do I stop it from doing so?

Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard,

I regret for the inconvenience and we'll be glad to help you further.

If the program is put to sleep, it will notify when you open the specific program. To wake up the sleep programs in AVG TuneUp, refer 'Prevent applications from running in the background' in the link below.

We appreciate your efforts, Richard.

Please observe the program for few days and let us know, if you face any issues.

Keep us posted.

I'm sorry, you don't seem to be understanding me.  I don't want to disable the service, I want to find out how to stop AVG from doing so.

Why don't we check that?
Disable the 'Click to run service' in the MS Office and let us know if you run the AVG TuneUp.
We can assist accordingly with the outcome.

Are you saying that Tuneup works by putting to sleep the Click-to-run service?  That might be fine - the problem in my system is that it keeps being Disabled, with the result that it will not restart the next time I try to launch an Office program.
This is a recent problem - I had previously been using Tuneup and Office together for two years uneventfully - so something has changed, either in Tuneup or in Office (or Windows10).  Surely someone can figure out what has changed.
