Msg says update needed

In this case, I request you to give permission to update the AVG Free and let me know if you face any issues.

In the past, AVG Free always updated automatically whenever needed.

Now, I'm getting an exclamation mark (!) overlaying my AVG icon in the lower right system tray.

Why is this update asking my permission rather than proceeding automatically as it has in the past?  Is this update risky?

Normally, you will be notified by saying 'Update now' in the interface of the application. After an update the program will be asked for a PC restart to complete the update.
So you do not have to worry about it. If it's ask for permission to update.

Why is it asking my permission for this update?  It never has before.
