My avg internet protection is not responding, can't scan, acts as though I don't have a subscription

We'll certainly look into this. Do you mean AVG Internet Security user interface does not load when you double click on the desktop icon? Or, do you see any error or warning message on the interface when you launch the program? If it is the latter, please share a screenshot (http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) of it.
In case the user interface does not at all, we'd request to start or restart the 'Remote Desktop services' service on your PC as described in this article.

my avg internet protection is not active, my subscription does not expire till January, what is going on???
