My avg virus protection doesn't go through a sequence and just states everything ol

when I click on my avg icon to open it the avg screen appears and states everything is ok… I was windows 7 just last month and now windows 10 is there a difference on how the virus protection acts on this windows 10… I just want to be sure I am actually checking for viruses.
