Jane, Try removing AVG by downloading & using the 32 or 64bit 2015 Remover (http://www.avg.com/ww-en/utilities) [Scroll Down], whichever suits your system. If you're not sure about 32 or 64 bit on your system have a look @ this link (http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218).

i have free avg protection that will not update at all, and Ihave tried to uninstall it so that Ican try again and it will not let me uninstall it…now fed up with it and I want if off my pc …hope you can help please
