Thank you Avinash for your quick reply.
The Resident Shield Result shows the date these viruses were detected as being just three days ago and still as being unresolved and still a high risk. Would this be the case if this was an old Resident Shield scan report and they had been taken care of? These viruses appeared immediately after I inserted one of my own DVD's on which I had copied photos several years ago using a different computer, this is the first time I had ever had need to insert the DVD since then. Are you saying that is it possible that these viruses were dealt with by my old computer at the time I burned the disk and have been picked up by my current one when I insertedt he disk for the first time? Could you kindly confirm that with these addtional facts this could still be an old report and these infections already taken care of I would be very grateful.
Sorry to be such a pain but my knowledge of such things is poor to say the least.
Regards, Joan
Hello Joan. Thank you for the reply. AVG Resident shield will always be monitoring your PC and alerts you for an action if any infections is detected. Anyway, I have sent you an email instruction with further steps to be taken to analyze your issue. Please follow those steps for further assistance.
When I do a complete computer scan everything is reported to be fine with no problems but when I looked in Options and checked my Resident Shield Results there were the above 4 identical viruses shown as high risk. I have tried several times to remove them and have performed the requested reboot i.e. turning computer off and on again, but the viruses are still there. In the Process column they are shown as being in c:\windows\explorer. These viruses were picked up after I inserted one of my own DVD's where I had backed up pictures years ago using an older computer, the name of the DVD is clearly shown. Is there any way I can remove these [nothing too complicated I'm afraid] or is it safe to leave them "unresolved" inthe Resident Shield Result. Please can anybody help?
