My computer is stuck in scanning and repairing drive at 10%

Atter running the scan disk as advised by the tune up software, mu pc has been stuck at 10%.
hitting the space bar reapeatedly will not let me skip the process so everytime I reboot it just goes back to scanning mode.
safe mode will not come on neither.

These are terrible instructions for a windows 8 user. Can you please provide advice on what to do after I press the space bar? You do not explain any of the options I am seeing and none of them are helping me get around the scan repair!!
