I have same problem, even tho the run on start up box is not ticked.
The same here, I do not have the "run on start up" box checked but the scan activates anyway.
The computer when you send it into hibernation effectively turns it off so the profile can't run. You will have ticked the box that says 'Run when computer startsup if task is missed'. This is what its doing - it missed the task, so on wake up it does the task. I only do a full scan once a week which can be done from the drop down of run at specific times and select weekly. Select a day then a time you want it to run. (suggest a time when you are least effected by the scan - ie after your work period but before you put your machine into hibernation. (this is done from advances settings> schedules> sceduled scans. You will also note you can schedule definistion updates program updates and anti spam in a similar manner.
While you are there in Advanced settings you can also make AVG better at detecting PUPs (potentially unwanted programs) Go to Computer protection>Antivirus> and tick 'report enhanced set of potentially unwanted programs'
My PC constantly runs the computer scan even though I tried using Scan Schedule to alter this to once every day at 3am. It seems that the scan begins whenever I wake the PC. How can I stop this and get back to the once a day rutine?
