i cant re-install, repair or do anything, it continuously says error AVGMSI error 1921, AVGFWS could not be stopped verify that you have sufficient privileges, to stop system services error code
0xC0070781. this is also the error screen i get wen i try to scan or update my avg. i tried, avg reset access, avg remover, support everything im now lost

Ok you freaking AVG gurus! What the F is going on?? I have the same problem as everyone else above has mentioned!! Cannot RUN any of your TOOLS to either repair-uninstall-install this software. Obviously there is a MAJOR issue with this antivirus program. I am just about to RESET my brand new pc to factory shipped state! FIX this GD piece of s**t software and give us some satisfactory results, instead of bullshit "try this-try that" fixes!!!

I have the same problem, I think I sent the correct stuff to you as I have no idea ?? If not, I'm sure the blokes above have sent the correct gear…
MY system REFUSES to allow instll of AVG either the 2014 AV I paid for or a newer version of 2015 Internet Security; fully paid and licensed; getting 0xC0070643 error. FOUND it is also related to .NET install and it refuses that as well. Have the install logs but AVG on line does NOT allow connection via email; it is greyed out. Had AVG runing since 2010 or so w/o a hitch. HOW do I get this reinstalled??? Ran the AVG removal tools; rebooted; tried a reinstall; no joy…/hut off Malware protection and Windows Firewall. STRANGE; I have a secondary install of WIn 10; allows installation there ??? HOW do I fix this?

I am having the exact same problem! I keep on getting "Service 'AVG Firewall' (avgfws) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient priveleges to stop system services" Error code 0xC0070643. Additional error: MSI Engine failed to install the product @AVGMSI error 1921 "Service 'AVG Firewall' (avgfws) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient priveleges to stop system services" (0xC0070781) - This is the same mesage that occurred when AVG staff tried to express install AVG 2015 for me… thay couldn't figure out what was going wrong & refunded me the fee for express installation - AVG Customer Care - Request #01638883 [ ref:_00Db0Jy90._500b0E76YG:ref ]
However, that doesn't explain why the product is faulty (there's nothing wrong with my windows installer,as it installs updates regularly without any problem!) nor does it get me a refund!
Am a VERY, very unhappy customer
