My recycle bin doesn't have shredder

Hello Dee,

Sorry, only in our older version of AVG you can find the option of Shredder in the right click on Recycle Bin.
In our latest 2016 version you won't be having this option.
The reason we removed this option because many of the customers accidentally click on the shredder option and all the files from recycle bin gets removed and it is impossible to retrieve those files.
Please feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.

How's the progress of adding back the shredder? I realised once I have updated, it's gone…Should have not update it…sigh…

When a customer has had Shredder and you then take it away dont you thinkk its defeating the objective. I paid for a product that had shredder and internet security i spend over £100 a year on your products unless i receive an answer to this I will be cancelling my order claiming a full refund via my bank and use a free protection like windows defender !!!
Stop buggering about with avg if its not broke dont fix it !!!

Hello Mia,
We are sorry to inform you that AVG Shredder option in the right click of Recycle Bin has been removed in the latest version.
It is because users will not be able to retrieve the files once it is shredded permanently.
Thank you.

what about the option within AVG itself. you would have to physically use this option. could you not add the option for the Shredder here to access the Recycle Bin?

AVG Technologies,
What is going on with the option to shred Trash Bin contents?
It been over four months now with no updates here.

When I right click on my recycle bin or a document there is no shred it option.   I'm on a PC and Windows 10

Windows DOES have a shredder option.  In Windows 10 anyway.

Hello Dee,
Please be informed that you can use the Shift+Del keys so that the files will get removed without getting stored on the Recycle bin.
Thank you.
Is there anyway to have it shred?  Looking for security
