Hello Jim. Kindly note that no AV product is capable of providing you with 100% protection although AVG are always working 24/7.

AVG would recommend to start with uninstalling all unknown/unused programs and browser addons.

I have been hijacked on Google Chrome  and Internet explorer with My start page can anyone enlighten me does AVG get   rid of this frustrating pest or is there product unable to rid pesky hijackers.
