I used the Remover tool and it seems to have worked. I would have used it to begin with, but when I started to run it, it warned that it should be run in Safe Mode. The tool wouldn't launch in Safe Mode, so I reluctantly ran it under regular conditions. So far it doesn't appear any harm was done. Thank you for your assistance. I will check back if I notice anything that needs reporting.
Ever since I installed a free trial of AVG TuneUp in addition to my pre-existing AVG Free, I have been getting literally 10-12 pop-ups an hour from AVG Diagnostics that read:
Following AVG processes failed:
- avguix.exe
Would you like to send the report to AVG for analysis?
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling all of my AVG products, but the pop-up is still a problem no matter what I do. I saw a recommendation for something that I believe is called AVG Clear that will allegedly help, but my laptop has crashed in the past (requiring $$ to fix) when I tried to run a 3rd party tool like this in Safe Mode. As it is, I just had to drop a ton of cash when a sketchy Windows update gave me BSOD. My laptop is a solid upper-mid-range machine, less than a year old!!!
Is there something else I can do about this without the AVG Clear tool? I have been using AVG Free for quite a long time, and recently decided that I might become a paid AVG subscriber. I downloaded a trial of AVG TuneUp, with plans to upgrade to AVG Ultimate if I was happy with TuneUp at the end of the trial. Now I'm thinking I maybe should just uninstall all AVG products and go with another company. These pop-up are making me furious.
If someone here can help, I'll definitely become a paid subscriber for AVG Ultimate. Other than this maddening issue, I love this company's products.

Unbelievable. Michelle is my PARTNER, thanks. I put my own name on my question, which you ignored why, exactly? Is it your company's habit to quasi-doxx people's household on your help site?
That does it. I'm going to delete AVG completely as soon as I've researched my other options.
