Nested virtualization

I'm getting a "nested virtualization" when running my Android Studio phone emulator. The emulator crashes soon after. Developer.android.com say that Avast can cause this problem. I checked my AVG settings and ensured that Hardware assisted virtualization was enabled. However, can see no setting to disable Use nested virtualization when available. I'm trying to eliminate all too few leads I'm finding to solve the problem. Is it possible that AVG has nested virtualization when available? I'm running on an AMD 64 running latest version of Android Studio from the command line of a Debian 11 distro running on WSL2.
