So I just started using the AVG Ultimate suite and have a few issues with VPN.  First, it's incredibly slow.  I realize the data is being encrypted.  But I have 500GB fiber to my house but I don't seem to pull more than about 1mbs when downloading.  Previously I had my VPN through EasyNews (PrivadoVPN) and it was actually really fast even though doing encryption.  I've halfway between Chicago and St. Louis so Chicago is the "optimum" location.

Next, despite the settings, the VPN does not start with Windows.

Kill Switch is not working.  With my previous VPN, if I did not start the VPN service there was no internet traffic allowed.  Not the case or at least not what I'm seeing with AVG VPN.

I can probably live with the lousy speed but if I can't get a solution for auto start and kill switch, I'll be done with AGV Ultimate and request a refund.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Unchecking Exclude Private Networks seems to have worked in getting VPN to start when Windows starts.  Thanks.

When I click on Settings, all I have is General and Network Security.  Nothing on Protocols.

I understand the data is being encrypted but from the data I provided, you can clearly see that AVG VPN is MUCH slower than Privado VPN.

Thank you for writing back to us, Rob.

Regarding the AVG Secure VPN getting auto-enabled after startup, please follow the below steps, restart your computer once & check for the issue:
Open AVG Secure VPN > Click on Menu > Settings > General > Make sure that "Automatically when connected to the Internet" option is checked > Under 'Network Security', make sure that the "Exclude private networks" option is unchecked.

You may experience a slower internet connection when using AVG Secure VPN. This is because a VPN encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server. Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.

Regarding the slow browsing speed, firstly, please try connecting to one of the 'Torrenting' locations/servers available in AVG Secure VPN. Secondly, enable the 'Mimic' VPN protocol in AVG Secure VPN by following the below steps:
Open AVG Secure VPN > Click on Menu > Settings > Protocols > Select Mimic.

Regarding the Kill Switch, would you be so kind as to elaborate your concern & share more details?

Keep us updated. Thanks!
