Nexus 6p (Android/Oreo) Cannot update virus definition

I understand your situation. Please follow the steps to reset the configuration of the AVG app to default, navigate to the Menu -> Settings -> Apps/Application Management -> AVG Antivirus -> Tap on clear cache and clear data -> Force stop the app once. Finally, restart the mobile phone and update the virus database.

If that doesn't help, I would request you to contact our Mobile Support team from AVG application installed on your device. It will help us to know about the device details and application settings which will be escalated to the specialists.

Open AVG Anti-virus app/AVG Cleaner app.
Tap on the drawer.
Click on Help and support-> Contact support and fill the form.

Thought I'd check the virus definitions, and got an 'Cannot download, error. Clicked the resolve button and it either just says 'Updating virus definition' and then the Resolve button remains and the Rish assessment remains as before. Is there a way to force this update or do I have to re-install or just throw the phone across the room again?

I did that and now I am back to having the non-upgrade version of AVG and there is no way I am paying again for this app!!! I did notice from logging in that there appears to be no record of my having paid for the pro version but your website says not to worry as your servers are all being upgraded and it will eventually show. Well, I'd like it to show now as I have paid for such a service, followed your instructions and now I am in the situation I describe!! Can you tell or show me a solution now?
