This will not work - as I said in my first post - I cannot access any websites!! I need more help in erasing Online Shield. Please review my earlier responses
The free version of AVG is stopping me accessing any websites. I have tried to follow the AVG recommendation to uninstall but cannot do this - an error message 0xe001f921 appears indication that an AVG installation is in progress. Any ideas?
Hello Andrew,
I am sorry to hear that you are unable to access websites after installing AVG. Please open the AVG AntiVirus free installed in your computer and click on Menu->Settings->Components->Online shield->uncheck https scan. Once you uncheck this option, please check if you are able to access internet. If you face any difficulties, feel free to contact us.
OK. I double click on the window but it does not open. If I click on Menu on the top right of the csreen and then Device Settings it opens to a page Windows Device Type. Nowhere can I find Components
Thank you. Everything is now working. I have reinstalled AVG - can I have confidence that the problem will not reoccur? What caused it in the first place?
Still not working. When I click on AVG tile it opens 4 tiles - Antivirus Free, PC TuneUp, Secure VPN and Password Protection. When I double click on Antivirus Free tile no further window opens. There is a menu at the top RH corner but when I click on Device Settings it does not show Components.
I think it is important to point out to your developers that my problem related to every website on my computer!!! Looking at posts from other clients AVG has had a recent spate of complaints re opening websites - I suspect my problem was not related to your normal malware software development? I hope it does not happen again!!
Andrew,
We are glad to know that your issue is resolved. For security reasons, AVG will block some websites being accessed because AVG programs are capable of detecting and removing the malware programs, however there are numerous number of malware programs emerging day by day and we are working 24/7 to add all those definitions to our database.
However, our developers will check and whitelist the legitimate websites from AVG virus definitions.
If the issue persists, please contact us and we will escalate accordingly.
Thank you.
Andrew, you do not have to open AVG Zen dashboard, instead please check if you are able to open the AVG AntiVirus free window. From AVG AntiVirus free window, you can see an option Menu->Settings->Components.
Sorry - still confused - Should I set up a Zen network or not?

Thank you for trying this steps. Please restart your computer in safe mode with networking http://avgclick.me/rebootintosafemode and check if you are able to access internet. If you are able to access, then please follow the steps provided in this post to remove AVG from your computer. Once you remove AVG completely, you can restart your computer in normal mode and check if everything works fine.
Thanks for your advice but when I click on Device Settings I get a screen showing Windows Device Type - nothing about Components?
