The corrupted Event History is a known issue to me because I discovered in June that my Event History stopped in May. The issue did not return after deleting history.xml. The cause is a mystery. I suspected that Event History was broken during an AVG program update, but by the time I noticed the issue there had already been another update. Susan, it might be interesting to know if your last AVG program update (of course you get database updates daily) was on August 10. You could find out by going to Control Panel > Uninstall a program and looking under the "Installed On" column for the date of AVG 2014.
Alan, what I see on top of this page is "Viruses and Threats Community." Is that not what you see? Also, if I go to the main AVG Community page, I can't find this thread. I can access it only by clicking the link in the emails I receive when s/one posts to this thread. So yeah, having trouble navigating the forum.
Hi Susan,
If you need help with expaining instructions let us know.
Yes, this issue happened several times, but is doesn't seems like AVG caused issue, file is corrupted.
Thanks
1I have AVG Antivirus 2014–paid version. My event history brings me back only to August 10, 204. Nothing afterward. Otherwise, the program appears to be working. Any thoughts? (Tech support level 1 could not help me; they wanted me to download a program to start a remote session with level 2. I did so, then waited and waited, then was logged out. Awful tech support!)
Susan, Have you thought about upgrading (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-upgrade-AVG-8-5-9-0-2011-or-2012-to-the-latest-version) to AVG 2015 & see if that corrects your situ…

Susan, Something would seem to be completely amiss. This is what I'm seeing…

Thanks. I'm not sufficiently tech-savvy to follow your directions, but will show them to someone local who is. (I'd rather not upgrade to 2015 b/c I'd have to manually reconfigure my settings.) Two questions:
* I heard that my problem is a known issue with AVG Antivirus 2014. True?
* I didn't realize I was posting within the virus section of the forum. Is there another section where it'd be more appropriate to post this issue?
