No Internet Access

When I installed AVG Free Antivirus 2016 it initially detected several threats.  I was asked to reboot to finish removing them all.  When I did so I had no internet access.  If I hover over the internet symbol on the bottom right it states that I do have internet access.  All browsers disagree.  Window 7 Home Premium is the operating system.

I uninstalled the program.  When I went to reinstall it said I needed an internet connection.  Here is a picture of the screen which I took with my laptop - I can't do this communication with my desktop because I have no internet connection.User-added image

Note : Please use the AVG Remover tool mentioned on the article to uninstall the AVG program more effectively.

  • If there isn't "AVG Network filter driver" click "Install " -> "Service" -> "Have Disk" -> "Browse" and look for
    c:\Program Files\AVG\AV\Drivers\avgfwfd.inf
    - Click "Open" button and follow the prompts
    - Restart the computer twice
    - Enable AVG Self Protection back.
