No internet after uninstalling AVG free anti virus

Thank you for the screenshots, Anura.
Please don't worry. We will check and resolve it for you.
Did you uninstall AVG from control panel or by using our advanced tools?

I use Windows 10. When i reinstall avg then internet works again. Uninstalling using avg clean and avg remove programs, i lose internet connection. Workaround is disconnect adapter, and connect again. But after restart computer, the problem is back.

Just went through uninstalling AVG on 3 systems and they all experienced this problem. Some non-browser based things would continue to function but no browser would (tried 4). Turns out that the problem was caused by the network adapter settings being changed to point to a specific DNS server in what appears to be an attempt to stop browsing completely.

Simple fix was to check the Obtain DNS server address automatically radio button and a reboot.

Thank you for waiting, Anura.
We will be able to help you if we have your support. We would like to understand more about the situation, that's why we request you to provide the below necessary info to check with the issue.
You mentioned that “connection is shown to be on” while accessing sites, is this on the computer or the modem?
Let us know how you connect to the internet (Wifi or Wired)? If using WiFi, are you able to connect wired/direct to the modem and vise versa?
Have you tried power cycling their modem? Do you face this issue on your PC or Mac, please mention the OS version? Do you have any VPN product? Is there any indicating yellow exclamation mark in the tray indicating an internet connection issue?
Please make sure that your system software and drivers are up to date. Also, after uninstalling the program, did you shut down and restart the computer to check the status?

I have the same issue, seems like a recurring theme and AVG have only denial as an answer. Are you guys even admitting the problem yet?

Hello Anura.
We'll certainly look into this. Please note that AVG should not be blocking you from loading the websites because it is not installed on your PC. May I ask how did you narrow down this issue to AVG? You could try using a different web browser or reset your web browser to default settings.

Hi, I can't open any website (though connection is shown to be ON) after uninstalling AVG. I have tried all the solution the community has suggested here since 2014 with no luck. Help. Anura

Thanks Priyanga. I did uninstall from the Control Panel but it still kept giving a message. But I didn't have a problem with the Internet. Then, when I contacted  AVG, I was given tools with which the programme has is completely removed but I have no Internet.

Thank you for the information Anura.
Let me check this with our senior team and get back to you.
We appreciate your patience in the interim.

Anura, we are aware about the issues that would happen with the internet due to AVG, but in your case, the issue reappears when you uninstall the program again.
This shouldn't happen and let me gather more information regarding it.
Could you provide me with the details that I requested earlier?

I so wish you guys won-t come back wuth this silly question. It is AVG, and I have done my research thoroughly. I uninstalled it and with that I could not open any webpages, so restored the computer. That reinstated AVG and all was fine but uninstaleld again and I can't open webpages again. I have done nothing else to disable browsing facility and I have searched on  the internet to find pages and pages of others complaining about the same thing from 2014 and this is 2019. I have tried applying the solutions suggested in those sites but haven't had a luck yet.

Firefox error

You contradict yourself in the space of two messages, please do reply to me only if you have a solution. This is an AVG problem, I will see what else I could do if you don't have a solution. the images above are the error messages I receive of Internet explorer and Firefox, when try to use them respectively. These images are identical to those seen by others since 2012, I have checked with them.
