No, my software is up-to-date

We have checked from our end and see that "Flash Player and VLC" detections are correct. There are indeed newer versions available.

Is Firefox still being detected? If so, please let us know and we will assist you further.

OK, but it's not going to tell you anything I haven't already told you, other than that today (unusually, but no sign that you've fixed the issue) it's not reporting Firefox as out of date. For the other two, I can guess that it's easy to have disagreement about Flash, because browsers accept different versions of it as plug-ins. (I run "check for updates" in Firefox add-ons.) For the other, I don't have an explanation, since (again) the program reports that it's up to date. User-added image

I know it's just trying to sell me something I don't want, so it doesn't matter, but a quick scan always ends with "issues." I can't judge the accuracy of the registry issues, say, without paying to see what they are. But the dated software list is always wrong. It's not making a great case for the paid version, for sure.

Say, it almost always lists Firefox, which I keep up-to-date, and its Flash plug-in. Today it has a media player that also, when I check, is up-to-date. Anything I can do better? Can this be reported to AVG for them to do better? Thanks.

Thank you for the screenshot, John.

Let us know if the issue still persists, provide us the version of Adobe Player you installed and the version which AVG recommended to update. We will check with it and get back to you soon.

Sure thing. I ran a scan just now and then reran it. The first time, Firefox was on the list again, with no version specified. (Mine is 59.0.2 and is up to date.) The second time, Firefox was back off. Go figure.

Both times still reported VLC Media Player and Flash Player Plugin. For the first, I have 2.2.6 Umbrella, and Help -> Check for Updates reported that I have the latest version. AVG asked for 3.0.1. For the second, I have 27.0 r0, and checking all plugins for updates within Firefox -> Add-ons reported "no updates fond." AVG asked for 29.0.113. I do know that in the past Flash has had compatibility issues with many if not all browsers when it comes to versions. I doubt VLC has such problems, since it's a stand-alone program running in Windows 10.
