AVG scan should shows some progress in the scanning window but we aren't sure why the scan is not progressing. We will work together and troubleshoot with this issue to get this sorted out.

And yes, we had the option to pause the scan and to set the priority for scanning progress, but with the latest update we have removed those option from our AVG Internet Security program.

What happened to the scanning progress bar we used to be able to view during a scan? When I launch the AVG interface now, and click on the animated "scanning" button, I see a progress bar but it only shows zero.
I would add that I'm very unhappy that AVG no longer lets us pause a scan or set the scanning progress priority. These functions allowed us to speed up our computers during a scan.
