I have been with AVG for years. I just repurchased my year subscription as well to find out that Turbo Mode no longer exists amongst several other features I used to enjoy with AVG PC Tuneup. I am very upset knowing these features have been removed and if they do not return soon I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Turbo needs to come back!
I bought with and for the turbo mode. now its gone, I will not be renewing unless it is returned asap.
Also I cannot put to sleep certain programs, or wake them.
very disappointed. and AVG saying that its been removed due to feedback, is because of support calls from users who dont understand it. That is not feedback.
please correct the software.
If someone doesnt understand turbo mode they simply dont click it. why not have an advanced version and a simple version. This was a staple for why i used PC tuneup too. I have a few computers with 2gb of ram that needed this feature and now im ruined. i cant upgrade these computers and its been a headached without the software features i paid for. this is unfair to remove something so important.
I turned on my PC this moring to find my copy of PC Tuneup had updated itself to Tuneup 19.1 even though I had updates disabled. I've been trying to reinstall 765 but everytime I do, it gives an error at the end of installation and proceeds to into the latest version. So it looks like AVG is forcing the update on us now. Either bring back the ability to downgrade or reincorporate the turbo option. Otherwise, it's the last time I pay for your software.
It's a bit stupid, reducing the software package, but keeping the price? I also wonder why there's no message coming with the new version, that the mode selection was removed. Using Tuneup since years now, but at this stage I will not renew my subscription.
I have had a very bad surprise when renewing my AVG TuneUp subscription. One of the most important features for which I use your program is the possibility of activating the turbo mode and I think that many of its users use it for the same reason. I honestly do not know if you continue using the program if you do not bring back the possibility of activating turbo mode soon. I am very disappointed by this new version.
So what new features have been added to the update, that users have asked for?
Turbo mode was a really useful feature, as can be seen just by the 35 comments here! Please put it back in.
What sort of feedback did you get asking for it to be removed?
Looks like most people want it back in

Then again you've removed so many useful features, like duplicate finder, I think its time to find a new AntiVirus programme.
Ì honestly don't believe that turbo mode was low ratted, It's one of the features that me and my team loved about TuneUp Utilities. Nobody asked me nor any of the members of my team. We don't recall any survey at all.
And it's sad because It really made our machines rock.
Rather pissed off that I just paid for a year's subscription only to find out that it had been updated to not include a turbo mode. Utter BS that this option was taken away and nothing said to the subscriber. I wouldn't have even subscribed again, and certainly won't again.
Bring back Turbo mode please if all these complaints werent enough. Not to mention all the other people who dont write to you or deal with this kinda bull. So I wont go full rage cage but it is important to most of us that we get the turbo option back. Stay Safe out there.

I have the same problem: a most important function of TuneUp were Turbo and Economic modes, helping use less energy / having more power for important tasks.
With the deactivation of those modes, TuneUp is quite useless for me. If there is no Turbo / Ecnonomic mode back in short time, I will have to evaluate other software and will leave AVG software!
Please BRING BACK THOSE MODES! It would be ok if they were not activated by default but can be activated in the settings!
Hi all, I fully understand the frustration of Turbo button removed. I enjoyed this feature for a long time, specially when running flight simulator where it's very important that all resources are focused on sim and nothing else. I also sometimes get enoyed when computer suddenly starts some heavy background activites when watching a movie.
So please bring this feature back!!
Jim
I can't seem to get the older good version to work again. When my last subscription ran out on Tune-up it uninstalld itself after I renewed the subscription. The links to the older versions given on this board won't work. http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_PCTuneUp_765.exe keeps asking for a key that AVG refuses to give me and https://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Performance_709.exe won't complete the install. The older version of Tune-Up is so good I don't mind paying for the subscription, but the new version is just plain crap in comparison. AVG has to be the only company that thinks removing features and functionality is an upgrade. I would like to get the older version back and running or give me my money back. Iolo utility seems to offer the features you once did, I think I might try them.
I wondered why i couldnt find the turbo mode after the update,im glad i've found this out now as my subscription expires on august 26th and i wont be renewing.
The turbo mode is the only reason I downloaded AVG and to see such an outcry for the function after it was removed tells me you guys aren't actually listening to feedback. Just doing what you think is best for the program. I'll be moving on as soon as my subscription is complete unless something is done about this.
THIS is your customer. Giving you feedback. Put this function (or a feature that performs the same function) back into the software or you will be losing a lot of customers.
I've been fairly loyal to AVG for a few years now.
Aside from that, there's no way (that I'm aware of) to put AVG into a performance mode so that it doesn't pull resources that I'd rather be using for other applications.
It was very nice of the previous commenter to put up that step by step on using the older version… but we shouldn't have to. Plain and simple. It is a function that pulled a MASSIVE amount of customers your way (myself included) and you alienated us.
Please tell me you have plans to reinstate this feature into a future update for TuneUp.
you are will never pass this on to anybody else… GOD!!! I JUST renewed for two more years only to find out I paid for nothing… Let me give you a refresher on "feedback". When something is going good and we have other things going on, you WON'T GET ANY!!! Nobody gave feedback because we take for GRANTED that you will leave GOOD ENOUGH ALONE!!! WTFFF!!! First Amazon stealing my PAID video from me and now THIS? YOU (not your underpaid schlub who has to read and deal with this crap) HIDE behind all the "fine print" legal mumbo jumbo that gets you off the hook, and WE pay pay PAY perPETually for less and less and LESS. Well, now that YOU have taken away the ONLY thing worth PAYing for, well here's back atcha. Screw ME? well screw YOU TOO!! THANK YOU for these MANY years of dependable service and I sincerely hope and PRAY that you will make your way back on the right track. Till then, Take Care, OLD friends
Hi,
Just had issues with my AVG PC Tune Up and had to install to the latest version due to being informed my licence does not work on the older version. Lost Turbo mode which is one of the main reasons I paid for this application - to speed up my pc and reduce unwanted programs during gaming. Now im stuck back to having a pointless "cleaning tool" which you can get free from other places.
Please can you reinstate the functionality that I previously signed up for as even on the site it states about being able to "boost your PC speed and performance" which was done with the turbo mode.
Hello Edson.
The changes in the new version of AVG TuneUp has been made based on the feedback received by our customers. Economy mode and Turbo mode is not available in the latest version.
You have taken all the functionallity out of both the Anti-virus and Tune-up, seems like you are intent on fixing the programs until they are completly broken. I have used AVG for years because I could control it instead of it controlling me. Guess what, you have completely destroyed that. Are you all that stoned or just that stupid. If I wanted a software for idiots I would have stayed with Norton or McAfee. Just want to be able to control the program, Now you can't even turn if off for awhile when you need to, you're suggestion is we install an older version. How about you give us back what we frickin bought?
