None of my browsers open

Hello Roy,

I understand the inconvenience.
Please install your AVG Internet Security program as mentioned in this article: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Internet-Security-or-Premium-Security and change the settings in AVG Firewall as mentioned below:

1) Open the AVG Internet Security dashboard and click on "Menu–>Settings–>Components–>Firewall–>Customize"
2) To the right of "Policies" scroll down to click on "System Rules"
3) Enable the option for "Windows file sharing and printing", "allow remote desktop connection" and the last entry "Enable stealth mode"
4) Below policies, click on "Network Profiles", to the right click on the network connection and change the profile to "Private" if it is set to "Public".

If the issue persists do let us know.

For business reasons I occasionally use a WinXP machine with some proprietary software.   When I upgraded to the latest AVG, NONE of my browsers would open, not Chrome, Firefox nor Internet Explorer.  However Mailwasher and Filezilla DO work so the connection is there.   WhatsRunning shows that the browsers are active but there is no display/screen.   I tried going back to a restore point before I did the upgrade but the latest AVG version still came through.   My final solution was to delete AVG at which point everything started to work ok again.   Since I have already paid for AVG I would like it to work but HOW?
