Hello Sue,
We will work together to sort this out.
Are you getting any error message when you try to use NordVPN with AVG Protection?
This was reported as a bug and will get resolved in the next AVG update.
In addition to not being able to use Nordvpn without it shutting down my computer I have to disable AVG to use Plex from my Firestick - all this after paying for an upgrade - very frustrating I read a fix about changing firewall settings from the components screen but it is not an option.
Hello Sue,
We are currently aware of the issue with VPN and this should get fixed in the next update.
Are you able to access Plex after disabling AVG? To disable AVG, right click on AVG icon under system tray next to clock, click on toggle bar to disable it temporarily and check if that fixes the issue.
Keep us informed about the status.
Yes, Sue. We will help you in resolving the issue.
As you are unable to access Plex with Protection enabled, it should be an issue with AVG. Let's check which component of AVG is causing this.
Please open AVG Internet Security > Menu > Settings > Components. Disable each components and monitor the status.
Keep us posted here to get speedy resolution.

thank you - Nordvpn works - will Plex work too?
AVG conflicting with VPN was fixed from our end.

Make sure that you have the latest version 19.2.4186.429 of AVG installed.

yes I can use Plex after disabling AVG - is there an estimate for release of next version?
Sue, we realize the situation. We will do our best to resolve the issue.
Let's disable the component 'Enhanced firewall' and check the status. If Plex works, please configure the Firewall settings manually as per the recomendations:
- Please open AVG Internet Security icon - Click Menu - Click Settings - Click Components - Scroll down to Firewall - Click Customize.
- Enable the "Internet connection sharing mode" and "Allow all connections with Friends when in Private mode"
- Click on System Rules - Enable the "Allow File and Printer sharing" and "Allow remote desktop connections to this computer" - Click OK to confirm it.
- Click on "Network profiles" - Change all the Networks to "Private" - Click OK to confirm it.
Keep us informed about the status.
