Not able to connect to VPN

I have been successfully using AVG secure VPN for several years. Unfortunately my subscription ran out because my credit card had expired. I renewed my subscription but I am now having problems connecting to AVG VPN. The message I get each time is 'you are not connected to the internet' and yet I am. Just now I also received a message saying 'Max Connections reached'. I thought that my subscription covered more than one pc (I have two). Could anyone advise please? Thanks.
