Not Connected To Server

I have the same issue as Larry: Since the upgrade to El Capitan, AVG Antivirus does NOT open when i start up my Mac. I have it set up to do so, and it used to! Now? No. So i have to Connect each and every time i open up. Can someone, somewhere, provide a solution? I shall turf it out if it cant be resolved…

Hello Larry,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. All AVG programs for Mac are compatible with Mac OS 10.8 and above. Please have a look at this article given: http://avgread.me/1GY4vRT.

Feel free to get back to us for any further assistance.

Thank you.

Well that fix didn't work for long. Not when I reboot, I have to log in to the ZEN network every time to get AVG connected. Any other suggestions? It's a pain in the butt.

Everytime we reboot our two iMacs, we find that they are no longer connected to the Zen server. I'm sur they always used to reconnect after reboot. Perhaps it's the upgrade to El Captain. I can't find any option in AVG to automatically re-connect. It's frustrating if we don't notice that we're not connected and haven't been for who knows how long and have to remember to re-connect each time we reboot. Is this the way the software is supposed to work or is anyone else having this issue? Thanks.

I have had no issues with AVG starting on reboot. But I solved the problem with staying connected and it might help you. Uninstall AVG from your computer with the option from the software menu. Empty the trash and reboot. Find the email you got from AVG when you bought the software and click on the download link. Log in to the download web page and re-download the current MAC version.Install that and log it into your zen network with your user name and password. It should work fine. I don't know if there is something about logging into their website to confirm who you are that is related to the download you get, but it worked fine for me. Give it a try.

AVG always used to reconnect when I'd reboot. This must have somethig to do with El Captain.

Yes. Exactly my issue.
In the meantime, thank you Larry for your suggestion: i do not have a paid suscription so the only download link i had lasted for a limited time only. No use.
I have finally given up and uninstalled it, and returned to Sophos.
Good luck!

Hello Jinty,

I request you to try the work around suggested by Larry.
Please let us know the status of it. Thank you.

Larry, If you logged into Zen network once, then every time with you reboot your pc. It will be connected to Zen newtork automatically.

Thank you.
