Thanks Alan, I have tried all these routes after filling in the tech support box I occasionally get a box ie e-mail/chat/phone but it vanishes as soon as I press it with zero response hence why I have given up.

In order to analyze it please provide us with diagnostic output (run it after inducing described behavior) using this tool and please add detailed description of issue.

upgraded to windows 8.1 from windows 8 avg showed no protection on computer or firewall, I un-installed avg2014 and re-installed 2015 this worked ok however when I restart the computer I get a black screen with lots of avg script eventually the computer starts up but avg has been removed I have re-installed 2015 any ideas please. I have given up trying to reach the AVG support however if they read this they may wish to try and help
