Please rest assured as your AVG Secure VPN will definitely mask your Ip address as well as your geo-location.
This is the expected behavior as most of the streaming websites will have their own restriction policy which will not allow access when a VPN application is used.
However, you can try selecting the following locations Gotham, Miami, New York, Seattle, Wonderland in AVG Secure VPN and check whether you are able to access the streaming sites.

I'm having problems with my AVG secure VPN in so far as it doesn't appear to be hiding my location. It is giving me a different IP address for sure but it must be leaking my exact location.I live in Ireland and wish to log onto and watch BBC iPlayer but each time I try I get a message" this content is not available in your area because of rights issue" The devices I'm using are my android phone and android tablet. I used to be able to access the required content some time ago. Did AVG change their server or something, UK wonderland is your preferred one. I'd really appreciate any help because otherwise I'm going to have to leave AVG.

This isn't the experience we wanted you to have with AVG.
We understand that you're located in Ireland. We recommended those servers specifically because they're designated for accessing streaming websites/applications (such as BBC Iplayer & Netflix).
Since you've already tried accessing the BBC Iplayer (Streaming site) using the 'UK Wonderland' server and that didn't help, we regret to inform you that this is the expected behaviour.
As informed earlier, most of the streaming websites will have their own restriction policy which will not allow access to their content when a VPN application is used.
Please let us know how you wish to proceed further.
Hello, I'm having the same issue as Pat in not being able to access BBC Iplayer. It appears that no VPN service will be able to acces these streaming sites as they have security in place to detect and block any VPN application trying to gain access. AVG VPN is not effective at all in these situations.
