I understand the inconvenience caused, let's work together to fix this issue. The issues might be because of old/previous AVG traces.
In this case, I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG. This will ensure that none of the previous traces of AVG are left on your computer and you have an updated version.
Please follow the instruction (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product) to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool.
After the computer reboots, you can follow the instruction to download/install AVG Antivirus Free.

Hello Everybody
I've been through the forum a bit, but I haven't found anything that could really help me. If you know a thread I could check, please do send me a link.

So, the other day windows 10 notified me that AVG Antivirus (free) needed updating. When I clicked on the notification, nothing happened. So I tried to open the user interface but it won't start

Since then, when I try to turn off my pc, I get notified that the AVG installer is still running.

I tried deinstalling avg but a window opens telling me that "setup is still running". I can "view log" but it's just blank.

I tried installing a new version but the setup won't work either

When I check the taskmanager, the avg installer is running twice but I can't end the tasks. 

Does anyone have a solution for this?
